Meet Surika Praik

Surika Praik isn’t one to wait her turn. She took on her first internship at a local summer camp as a freshman—and by senior year, she was promoted to Assistant Camp Coordinator, managing daily logistics, leading fellow interns, and keeping operations running smoothly. Her leadership extended far beyond camp: she served as Senior Class Senator, representing students at School Committee meetings, led the Environmental Club’s school-wide recycling efforts, and advocated for global awareness through the Global Cambodian Youth Network. Now, Surika is headed to UMass Lowell on the prestigious Paul Tsongas Scholarship—awarded to just two Lowell High seniors each year—covering four years of tuition, room, and board.
