Meet Tiana Nhem

Tiana Nhem is always seeking out opportunities to grow—and she’s not afraid to forge new paths. During her senior year at Lowell High, she joined the Early College Promise program, a 13th Year initiative that allowed her to earn her Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Middlesex Community College, completely free for her and her family. With her degree in hand, she enrolled in Project LEARN’s Pathmaker program, a career-connected training initiative that prepares young adults not currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program for jobs in the life sciences. Through Pathmaker, Tiana earned industry-recognized certifications in OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens, Biosafety, and Laboratory Safety—credentials that now set her apart as she interviews for roles in a competitive, fast-growing field.
